Bundaberg Regional Council is seeking an experienced and forward thinking General Manager, Infrastructure Operations and Delivery to oversee essential services shaping the region’s future. Reporting directly to the CEO, this pivotal role will lead diverse operational areas, including civil works, water and wastewater, waste management, natural areas and asset management.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies to optimise infrastructure lifecycles and align operations with Council’s goals.
Foster collaboration and integrate diverse teams to enhance organisational focus and performance.
Design and implement strategies to maximise staff capabilities, leveraging individual strengths.
Oversee the delivery of high-quality infrastructure services, ensuring compliance, safety and efficiency.
Manage disaster response as Local Disaster Coordinator, ensuring readiness for natural events.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in local government infrastructure leadership, with strong knowledge of legislative requirements and lifecycle asset management. A tertiary qualification in engineering or a related field is essential, with additional expertise in environmental health, water and waste management or business highly regarded. Strong stakeholder engagement, financial management and team leadership capabilities are crucial for success in this role.
