Gympie Regional Council is seeking a skilled Senior Project Liaison Engineer to drive transformative road and traffic operations projects in collaboration with Queensland Hydro. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the region’s future by managing essential transport infrastructure upgrades and implementing effective traffic management solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary liaison between Council and Queensland Hydro for road and transport infrastructure projects.
Oversee project milestones, ensuring timely and cost-effective road network improvements.
Provide expert engineering advice on traffic operations, road safety and transport planning.
Present project updates to managers and the Executive Leadership Team.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including transport authorities, contractors and community representatives.
Ensure compliance with road safety, legal and environmental standards.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Project Management or related field.
Expertise in traffic operations and knowledge of the MUTCD manual.
Strong leadership, problem-solving and communication skills.
Knowledge of the MUTCD manual and Department of Transport and Main Roads requirements.
Remuneration Package
This role is offered as a fixed-term contract until October 2027.
Base salary: $130-150k (negotiable depending on skills and experience).
Super: 12.5% (up to 13% with employee contribution).
Relocation assistance: As per council policy.
