Lockyer Valley Regional Council is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join the team as Coordinator Community Wellbeing, for a 4-year contract. This is an opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of the region and make a positive impact on the local community through building key relationships.

As the Coordinator Community Wellbeing, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the efficient and effective management of the Council's environmental health, local laws, pest management and environmental management obligations and compliance. The position reports to the Manager Planning, Policy and Community Wellbeing. In this highly customer focused role, you will have the opportunity to act as the central contact for both internal and external stakeholders and interact with Government Bodies and Departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide regulatory and legislative guidance around the Council's environmental health, local laws, pest management and environmental management obligations and compliance.

• Lead a team of ten, providing technical expertise and operational leadership.

• Take a proactive approach to dealing with incoming queries and act as an escalation point for technical questions.

• Hold an advanced proficiency in written and verbal communication.

• Utilise excellent analytical skills to generate Council level reporting.

• Possess knowledge of Local Government and State Departmental policies and processes.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes:

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health, Pest Management, Environmental Management or similar, with demonstrated practical experience.

• Relevant experience leading a multidisciplinary team.

• Proven ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders and Government Officials.

• Experience leading a team and fostering a culture of commitment to continuous improvement.

• Personal attributes that align with the Values and Vision of Lockyer Valley Regional Council.
