Are you a strategic IT leader ready to drive digital transformation, cybersecurity and enterprise systems in a dynamic local government environment? Isaac Regional Council is seeking an experienced Chief Information Officer to shape its technology future and lead critical initiatives that will enhance service delivery across the region.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Governance and Financial Services, you will lead the Council’s information services function, driving strategy, innovation and operational excellence. This role is integral to strengthening the Council’s digital capabilities, ensuring strong cybersecurity and optimising enterprise systems to meet the needs of both the organisation and the community.
Isaac Regional Council is undergoing a significant technological transformation, with major initiatives including a multi-year TechOne and ECM upgrade, cybersecurity enhancements and digital process improvements. This is a rare opportunity to make a real impact, modernising IT infrastructure and shaping the future of technology in local government.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of IT strategies that align with the Council’s digital transformation goals
Oversee cybersecurity risk management, ensuring compliance with ISO and Essential 8 frameworks
Manage enterprise systems, including the rollout of new technologies and process digitisation
Lead major IT projects such as the TechOne upgrade, network infrastructure reviews and mobility solutions
Provide expert advice to senior leadership and councillors on IT governance, risk management and innovation
Develop and mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
What You’ll Bring
Extensive experience in IT leadership, strategy and governance
Strong expertise in cybersecurity, risk mitigation and enterprise system management
Proven ability to lead digital transformation projects in complex organisational environments
Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
A leadership style that balances strategic vision with practical execution, fostering team development and innovation
Experience in local, state or federal government is highly regarded, but candidates from the private sector with relevant expertise are encouraged to apply
Experience with TechnologyOne ERP will be highly regarded
