Leading Roles are delighted to announce the appointment of Robert Williams as the new General Manager for Narrabri Shire Council.
Leading Roles’ executive search campaign and extensive networks attracted many highly experienced local government leaders for this key role.
Mark Ogston, Leading Roles Founder and Director, said Mr Williams’ significant experience as a Local Government Chief Executive for two large councils in New Zealand made him the ideal candidate for the role.
“Robert is a highly experienced Chief Executive who served the communities of Taupo and Thames-Coromandel in New Zealand. He has more than 30 years of professional management experience, including 15 years in Chief Executive roles.”
As General Manager, Mr Williams will lead Narrabri Shire Council to achieve its vision and goals and maximise the region’s opportunities for its community. This includes the enormous growth prospects tied to over $7 billion in state significant development projects in gas, coal, clean energy, agriculture, and inland rail and associated inland port development initiatives.
Mr Williams is looking forward to becoming an integral part of the council team and the wider community in and around Narrabri Shire at this pivotal time. He will commence his position with Narrabri Shire Council on August 15.
