Paroo Shire Council seeks a Director Infrastructure Services to provide strategic leadership in achieving Council's Operational and Corporate plans.
Reporting to an engaged and passionate CEO, and forming part of the senior leadership team, the Director Infrastructure Services will lead a multi-disciplinary team across all of council infrastructure services including Roads, Storm Water, Water, Sewer, Landfills and Parks and Gardens.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Infrastructure Services Directorate of Council and provide advice and support to the Chief Executive Officer to achieve the operational and corporate objectives of Council.
- Support, guide, and mentor employees and act as a role model for Council's Values and Behaviours, including a strong focus on Workplace Health & Safety.
- Direct programs and projects relevant to the strategic and operational objectives of Council, within budgetary constraints and within established timeframes.
Qualifications, skills and attributes:
- Experience leading an Infrastructure Services Directorate within local government including financial, asset and business management capability.
- Strong project management experience to lead key capital projects.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to lead and positively influence safety, quality, compliance and human resource regulations.
- Qualifications in engineering or project management highly regarded; or significant experience in a similar position.
Located in Southwest Queensland, Paroo Shire covers an area of 47,727 km2 and encompasses the towns of Cunnamulla, Eulo, Yowah, Wyandra and their surrounds. The population of the Shire is approximately 1860. An outstanding individual can make an enormous impact on the region.
